Office 2016 2PC user license, second installation.

    Hello,

I have Office 2016 that is licensed for up to two PC installations.

However I don't have the original key code that came sealed in a plastic envelope. Currently Office 2016 is installed on my first Windows 10 pc and I would like to install it onto my second Windows 10 PC.

I did save some information from the first PC installation to a text file. I seem to remember during the initial installation I downloaded MIcrosoft Office 2016 from Microsoft.com of which it installed successfully after entering a key code.

It was quite a while ago, I remember being able to get Office 2016 Plus key information from a script and save it to a text file

Here is some of the information I saved to a text file, and still shows up from a script

    cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey

    PRODUCT ID: xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

LICENSE NAME: Office 16, Office16ProPlusMSDNR_Retail edition
LICENSE DESCRIPTION: Office 16, RETAIL channel
    LICENSE STATUS: ---LICENSED---
Last 5 characters of installed product key:

I also wrote down ans saved the Office 2016 Plus key code or COA that does match the last 5 characters of the Installed product key displayed from the script.

For privacy I've made up and haven't displayed the actual key code.

key code I saved from previous installation, appears something like

    A4PGX-ZBYBL-9MAXM-LS2HX-9LQ8X

So to create a second Office 2016 installation on a second PC all I need to do is download Microsoft Office 2016 from Microsoft website, run the installation program, enter the key code? I seem to remember needing to go through some other verification pages during and/or after the installation had completed.

I'm trying to remember when I actually was required to enter the COA (key code). I believe it was after the download and during installation ?

The other thing is Office 2016 Plus even though it's been verified to be valid and activated by Microsoft for some reason it couldn't be registered under my Microsoft Account. I called MS about it several times and have been told by more than six ms employees it has a valid activated licensed but weren't certain why it would not register under my MS account (and that it wasn't registered under any other MS account)

Do or did you personally have a Microsoft Software Developer Network subscription?

If not, I'd probably be worried that the installation might eventually be deemed not genuine or invalid in some way, even after it originally appeared to be accepted and validated.

The Product Keys for a normal retail license are typically requested during installation, but the last I heard you don't have to provide it at that time.
