What Does KMS and CR2 Mean?
In MS Office, what are KMS and CR2? What do they mean?
In MS Office, what are KMS and CR2? What do they mean?
KMS = Key Management Service
C2R = Click-to-Run (if you actually meant CR2, then I don't know.)
Kms is often used for pirated versions you can active windows that way as large firms do
KMS to the average non-corporate environment user means pirating.
@Samuria
Hi there
Most firms are very observant about ensuring anti-piracy measures are in place !!!! I think you didn't actually mean what your post implies that most firms use piracy -- I think not somehow.
Actually KMS these days is dead even for corporate servers as the activation system / licensing from Ms has changed hugely -- also most office products now are the click2run versions which don't use KMS for their activation whether corporate or individual ( Office 2016/2019/365).
as NavyLCDR says KMS these days definitely implies user pirating.
I think though Ms after any office updates will convert to click2run versions (at least for office 2016 and later) so KMS won't work in any case -- even pirated versions of Office should stop working.
There's a couple of LEGAL free alternatives around that are almost as good as the real thing.
Cheers
