    outlook contacting server

    hi
i have windwos 10 pro all updated, and office pro 2016 all legal licenses and kaspersky internet security.

when i was in netcabo operator or net by cable in this case called NOS in Portugal i had no problems.
since i change to Vodafone fiber, this problems arrived.
i am in outllok ,i received the messages, when i pass throw certain messages it appear that messages in photo, and stay a while until dissapear, i think 30 seconds or more.
I discover that if i open another tab for ex with Facebook i go to that tab stay a seconds when i go to outlook it seems to dissapear more quickly.
I already format pc and installed everything again and the problem remains.
I think Vodafone servers are doing this but i am not sure.
what you have to say ?

    Hi.

I think you are saying that when you first sign on you get more than just this message and when you clear them you get this "Contacting the server for Information"

Are you getting messages before this and if so what message(s).

In gmail you can allow connections that are less secure.

Did you have to install any special software to use your old ISP's (NOS) in Portugal.

Does vodafone require you to authenticate your connection before using service?

If you are not running any special communication software I might reset these five items to see if that clears things.

Run the following five bolded commands. Use a Command Prompt(admin) or Powershell(admin)

Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refresh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
netsh interface ip delete arpcache (reset Address Resolution Protocol cache)

I've seen something like this in a hotel when you use there internet. Apps don't work until you open your browser and log in. Then all of a sudden they work - hence the question Does vodafone require you to authenticate.

How are you connecting to Vodafone, cable, dsl, fibre?

Have they confirm your settings in Modem / router?

I might call vodafone and ask them.

Any chance you have an old proxy server still install in network? Network and internet settings, last option on left.

The fact that it connects as soon as you use browser is telling us something, some process is completing.

I see you are using POP. Does it act the same way with IMAP.

I use IMAP so all my devices have the same view.

Please also review your setting in GMail under the tab "Forwarding and POP/IMAP"
