    I've now ordered the Office 2010 version on optical media that I mentioned earlier. It's 5 more than the one you linked but fingers crossed it will hopefully work under both W7 and W10 should that prove necessary. Also because I'm an old fart I still prefer to get my software on media rather than download when possible. I can use my W7 desktop PC to get it onto the laptop which doesn't have an optical drive .
    Make sure that the "hologram" label does not "peel off". I got a 2010 that did, Had to send it back to Amazon.

    As a postscript I've now received and installed the copy of Office 2010. Installation proceeded without incident, the product key was accepted and Word opens and runs ok, so this has resolved the problem I raised with this topic.

    Porthos, the holographic disc is fine and does not have a label capable of being peeled. It is a genuine item as advertised.

    Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this discussion.
