I'm not sure what Ricardo is talking about, but you can easily manually setup email accounts in Office 365 or 2019 using the Mail (Microsoft Outlook) in Control Panel (somewhat shown Swec's post, and expanded in on on post #19).
All you have to do is open the mail app (in Control Panel), click Email Accounts, under the Email tab hit New..., click Manually setup or additional server types, click Next and Chose Your Account Type and go from there.
You can also edit an account already setup by choosing an account and clicking Change (from email tab).
Kudos to swec for posting the solution in message #16 and thanks for the screenshot posted by BAB2501 in message #19.
For some reason, the "/manageprofiles" did not work for me, but getting to the old-fashioned configuration screen by typing "Control Panel" in the start menu did the trick for me.
I just made an account today to give credits to swec for both being persistent (and solving it on it's own), but also for taking the time to share it with the community, and finally for remaining polite to bro67, despite that bro67 did clearly not understand the problem and was condescending to you.
Thanks, swec!
Wonderful! After more than 1 year, the problem with the username that cannot be set in the new Outlook365 has not only not been solved, but it has worsened, because the previous dialog to be lunched from the Control Panel or with the "/manageprofiles" parameter has also been removed in the new versions! Unbelievable...
rapuz,
There's no point letting off steam here. We are users, just like you.
If swec's solution no longer works & if nobody chips in with another solution in the meantime, I suggest you start a new thread of your own and just include links to this thread & to swec's post in your description

Welcome to TenForums.
It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.- At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.- Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
- I download a new copy each month.
- By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
- Both tutorial lists are searchable.
- You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials
You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
- You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
- [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]
One permanent solution is to disable simplified account creation by creating a registry key.
Navigate to:
create a dword 32 bit value and name the new dword:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Setup
with value:DisableOffice365SimplifiedAccountCreation
