How to remove non-functional Office 2016 "Store App" icons in Start?

    Greetings, TenForums.

Could I trouble you for some assistance with a spontaneous problem that has occurred on my Win10 (v1709) system with regard to MS Office (2016, 365 exe version)? Any help would sure be appreciated!

The Problem: I have had Office 2016 365 installed for a few months, and all worked as expected, until a couple of days ago, I noticed duplicate shortcuts to each Office program in the Start menu. One of those shortcuts is a normal *.lnk, leading to the relevant program. The other is not a shortcut, but a Store App icon (as seen from the context menu options, or lack thereof - e.g. no "Open file location", but "Rate and Review" is available). The Store App icon for each Office program does not work, as I don't have the Store version installed, having got rid of a Store-based demo version that came with my PC months ago; the only thing I forgot to get rid of was the "My Office" app (which has sat there and been useless for ages).

What I've tried: Not only are the Store Office App icons non-functional duplicates, but I cannot get rid of them. Right-click-->Uninstall does nothing, resetting the Store does nothing, deleting the Start menu icon cache does nothing, CCleaner does nothing. I tried uninstalling the "My Office" app, in case that had something to do with it (did nothing). I'm at the end of my tether, and have no idea how to get rid of the annoying icons. I asked on a few subReddits, but got no better recommendations than "Reinstall Windows" (new computer, clean, everything else works, and it's taken me months to get it "set up" as I like it).

Do any of you knowledgeable people have any ideas?

Uninstall all Office installs, reboot, run Disk Cleanup System Files, reboot and then try to reinstall Office 365.

Guessing there's no easy way, e.g. reg key to edit/delete or anything like that? Was kinda hoping to avoid big reinstalls. Would it even work, since the installed Office is *.exe-based and the problem is with App tiles (e.g. would those get removed, too, upon uninstalling?)? Also, on another user account on the same PC, the App tiles are not present (ie. no non-functioning duplicates).

    Managed to remove the icons

I managed to remove the non-functional, duplicate Office App icons from my Start menu.
I removed my exe-based Office 2016, as suggested. In retrospect, I don't think I had to, as that didn't make any difference.
What I did: In desperation, went to the the Windows crApp Store and navigated to the page of e.g. Access. I clicked on the Install button. (NB it is necessary to enable Windows Update for the crApp Store to work, as it otherwise refuses to download stuff. Normally, I keep Win10 Update off, using Winaero Tweaker). I don't own an Office 2016 License to cover the App version of Office 2016. I own a basic, Home & Student license, that only covers Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and OneNote in EXE version afaik (off the record, I have attempted "upgrading" said license via non-MS-approved means to a Pro license with Access, Visio, etc.). Strangely, I was able to download the full, App versions of all the MS Office 2016 products from the Store, and they worked fully, despite me not owning a license. I proceeded to uninstall these App versions, and the App icons disappeared with the files. Annoying that they appeared in the first place, and that I've had to put that little extra wear on my SSD.

TL;DR - Future reader with the same problem, try downloading the stuff from the store, then uninstalling it, first.

    Thanks for the help!
