Configure Outlook 2010 for Outlook.com address

I am following instructions on line to make my Outlook.com address work in my newly re-installed Outlook 2010.

This is what I was instructed to put:

    Account Type: IMAP
    Incoming Mail Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com

Username: (I put the same name that appears in my @Outlook.com address)
Password: (I put the password I use to log in via a browser.)

Test Account Settings is NEGATIVE for both sending and receiving.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

My main Microsoft account is set up in Outlook 2010 to use an Exchange account and that works fine.

I have a secondary Microsoft account which I set up as an IMAP account using the servers you mention. Log on using your email address as the username and password. Uncheck the option Requite logon using SPA. The other configuration screens are copied below:

    I spoke too soon.

The incoming passed the test, the outgoing test message times out.

Turns out the outgoing server is now 587!

Thanks for your help it is working now.
