So, that will not mess up all the Microsoft tentacles running through Windows? I know how integrated Office can be.

But better to do it now before I start using all this stuff. I will look up how to unintall and reinstall Office. Thanks
Nah. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office many times.

However . . . be sure to have a backup just in case. As we've all been told, Sh . . . err ummm, Stuff happens!

To uninstall Office 2010, go to Settings>Apps>Apps & Features>Microsoft Office>Uninstall and you should be good to go.

Sanity check . . . Office 2010 should be on CD or DVD. Will your new computer have a DVD drive in it? I'm not sure you can still download 2010 from Microsoft. They want you to subscribe to Office 365 2016.
    2019.

Oh, wait! I think I'm getting you mixed up with someone having a new computer built. Whoops!

    Thanks! It worked well.

And yes, I have the DVD with key code.

Nothing to back up yet, just loading up a new Windows 10 install. So I kept OneNote this time, never used it, but actually it might come in handy.

One Note works well if you see something somewhere and you want to refer back to it, copy it, or just remember something. There's something called "Sticky Notes" already in your Start Menu that's probably much newer and can do more. If you choose it over One Note, I'd leave ON alone, since I don't think it eats much.
