    2. Also... I want to install ONLY...

    • Publisher 2019

Thank you in advance for a clear explanation and details (either way... yay or nay).

    Hi there.

maybe it's because nobody knows !!! or has tried it. -- my own view on this is that Office needs a bit of work to get it to work properly so you might be better off attempting it in a full blown Virtual machine. (Note I understand you are using Sandboxie and not the rather limited Sandbox test thing included on the latest Windows insider builds).

Usually if someone on these forums has tried they will come back and answer -- the fact you haven't yet got a reply probably means nobody is currently out there who has attempted this. I'm sure though if the task is sufficiently daunting or interesting someone will have a go or be mad enough to try it!!

    Cheers

First make a solid backup of your OS ( Macrium !)
Then uninstall your Office completely and reboot a few more times , be sure its removed !
Then google for the Click to Run ( C2R ) and install the Office programs you want only ................
    ( I went from Office 2016 to Office 2019 this way !)

    Hello, pietcorus2.

    Thanks for getting back.

    1. Are you suggesting the $132 I spent on Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019 is the wrong app to install within Sandboxie?

    2. What is the DIFFERENCE between the MS C2R and Office Professional Plus 2019?

    I briefly researched:

    - G-SEARCH | click to run office 2019 |
    - Office 2019 Click-to-Run: What we don't know

You get the same Office 2019 with both installers. Big difference is the way of installing , its very easy with C2R to choose the Office-programs you want . While with the ( bloated) install-CD you will get a whole lot of stuff you will never use ..........

    pietcorus2:

For clarification... let me outline some questions:

    - So I understand that C2R is an installer package and it's non-bloat and custom install advantages.

    - Will it utilize the Office Professional Plus 2019 I purchased... or is it totally independent of this?

    - Does C2R faciliate installing Office 2019 within Sandboxie?

" Does C2R faciliate installing Office 2019 within Sandboxie?"...............not using Sandboxie , but why not , as long as you backup first ..........

I believe I found the answer to this question in a previous response from @bo elam :

@ab1kenobeeHi Alan. I am not familiar with MS Word 2013 only but very likely it cant be installed sandboxed. Not all programs can be installed in a sandbox. In the case of Microsoft Office, specially now with C2R, is too complicated to install in a sandbox.

    Boohoo!

I also received a response from the Sandboxie forum... but was hoping it's not the final answer:

    • Hi there, unfortunately drivers and services will not install inside Sandboxie.
    • Office requires services to be installed.
    • You will have to install the program on your host, and launch it Sandboxed.

I hope this proves helpful to others as well.
