    Thank you
    That would be interesting. I just looked at my Office 2008 disc and there is no install.exe/setup.exe routine that I can find on it needed to install on a Windows or Linux computer. Office 2011 probably was a streaming install, never got a disc for it.

    office.com/setup >is where I go to enter my 25 characters; all it says is,"Lets's get Office, enter characters and it downloads to machine. There is no apparent differentiation between apple and pc.

    For sure there is a code difference between Windows and Mac OS. These are totally different OS's and they handle installs differently.

    That said, the site you are downloading from would know what OS you are using and would present appropriate version.

    I've seen Word docs open in iWork's Pages 09 but not all more-advanced features were fully compatible.

    It is true that some advanced features will not be compatible but the same applied to another office suite I used and it suits my purpose.

    If you are looking for Office suite Libre Office is good as well.

    Hi there

    @maranna

    Just Backup the Windows PC before doing anything. Uninstall office after taking image of windows PC.

    Now install Office on the Mac (you'll have to download the Mac version) and use same serial number as you had for the windows PC.

    Should work -- if it doesn't just ring the number you did before and say Ms said just install on the Mac. They will get it working.

    If all else fails just restore the image back to your Windows PC and carry on looking for other solutions.

    To back up the PC use something like Free Macrium.

    There's another possibility as well -- use Parallels on a Mac to run Windows as a Virtual machine or dual boot with Bootcamp.

    Cheers
