How can I export a detail file listing from Windows Explorer to Excel?
Hello everyone. I'm new here, and I want to thank you in advance for your help
Is there a way for me to copy/export from Windows Explorer to Excel >> A listing of file names, created date & time?
I am trying to organize a lot of image and video files, and haven't been able to transfer the files from my GoPro to my laptop without the created date changing. I would like help with that, but in the meantime I want to be able to copy all file names/created dates/created time to an Excel spreadsheet so I can sort them in there.
I tried suggestions in similar posts, but when I get the data to Excel, the date shows up as "General" with AM or PM in a separate column. This makes it impossible for me to sort in chronological order.
The method I used was going to CMD and typing: dir > dirlist.txt
I tried dir > dirlist.csv but it brought incorrect date/time info, and split file size into columns...made it difficult to use.
I also tried selecting all files in the Windows Explorer folder, right click to find copy as path. Copy as path wasn't an option. I suspect it wouldn't give me the date/time info though.
My goal is to be able to chronologically sort all images and videos from a specific event, and be able to see the date and time the images were captured.
Thank you again!
