Please advise the process of moving my current installation of MSoffice Home and Student 2013 from one laptop to another . Both laptops have the same outlook.com login credentials. I have the Office 2013 key for my current installation . Tks
The EULA of Office usually specifies it can be installed on a "workstation" and a "portable device" in control of the same person. Usually the activation will prompt a phone call which asks how many devices it is installed on and I always said one when installing on a second device, never had a problem.
EDIT: Sorry, had an issue arise and hit Send too soon. I'd just start the install from the disc [or downloaded file], enter the Product Key, usually on the COA/Certificate of Authenticity, and the Activation should pick up if you are connected to the Internet. If not the first paragraph applies. I have seen times where a new installation 2 years after the first was not a problem.

I have two computers with same microsoft log in credentials ( ie xxxxx@outlook .com) On the desktop I have Office 2013 Home and Business and on the laptop I have Office 2013 Home and Student. When I log in with my microsoft credentials( either laptop or desktop ) I only see Office Home and Business Installed. I dont see Home and Student version of Office. However when I open Word on the laptop and check the account from there I see that Office Home and Student is installed and activated.
I thought I would see both versions as installed in different computers when I login to my microsoft account.
Can I just download and install Office 2013 Home and Student version directly to my new laptop using activation key without uninstalling it from my old laptop ?
Should be able to but check my previous response about the EULA. Your 2 machines use different versions of Office, only caveat is the Product Key has to match the edition you are adding to the new machine, usually are edition specific. You could end up with the same version on 2 computers and the 3rd will remain unchanged.
This has not been true for ages. It applied up to Office 2007. You can check licence terms on your computer [they are installed with the Office suite] or using MS licences download site

I did not have to uninstall from old computer at all. I went to office setup website , started the download process and entered my office key and it installed with no questions at all. Opening the first document activated the installation. I read somewhere that Office 2013 Home and Student allowed installation on 3 computers? Maybe thats why?
