Outlook 2007 Deleted items

Yes I did, I just followed the instructions, next > next etc., etc

There is a deleted items folder, but when I click on the black X for delete, it's just puts a strike through the email and doesn't move it to the deleted folder

OK, that means that you have an "EAS" setup. Use the article I linked to and do not go past the heading about IMAP.

And do note that jimbo's instructions were for IMAP. Use the article I linked to.

Under account settings > email accounts, it has 2 listed named email accounts, alongside that it has type, IMAP/ SMTP

OK, I was clearly wrong. I thought I used to see complaints by other users about that automatic method defaulting to setting up EAS.

So you can use both the article I linked to and jimbo's procedure.
