Outlook.com setup

    SOB before I can send or receive emails I have do a verification. I can NOT do a verification because I don't have a cell phone. This dumber than dumber should get.

    There should have been an option to receive an auth code via your land line phone, or another email account.

    I looked at it again and if there is an option I don't see it. Here is what I see.

    I just went thru the entire process setting up a new "dummy" (but real) Outlook mail account. All went just great, until I tried to send an email to myself. Got the same thing you did. No way out. I cannot find a resonable way to verify the new account without an SMS text message code. Searched all over, and closest I could get was to use Google Voice to get the code. I agree with you, it is a bit absurd. Maybe someone else has a fix. Other than another "online SMS service", like Google Voice, I have no idea. Sorry.

    f14tomcat at least now I know I am NOT crazy. My wife has a cell phone and maybe (not always sure) she will let me use it to get the email code needed. I am never sure what he heck she will do.
