Doing a search for Error 0xC0000142 When you start an Office 2016 application.
Brings up a Microsoft page claiming it was fixed in version Build 9126.2116.

They must have stuffed it up again.

I notice tonight office 365 for some new updates. Let’s see if this problem continues to rear it’s ugly head!

Updated to Version 1811 (11029.20079) last night.
First thing this morning Outlook failed to start - same issue.
    Reboot cured it.

How frustrating. It’s not happened to me since the beginning of the week but based on your feedback I am sure it will occur again. Sadly it’s typical of MS these days. Bugs everywhere. I’ll continue to report my observations and continue to raise this with their useless twitter support and even more useless Microsoft answers forum

This is a super annoying bug. It is completely random. It hasn't struck my work computer yet only my desktop at home.
Did it once then nothing for two weeks, then it happened again now its ok. Both machines are the same version.
