Does it have an Outlook or Access equivalent?
    Hi there
    @Stigg

No -- for email client you have to use your own -- e.g thunderbird (free - OK reasonably "Outlook like" can do multiple accounts / exchange servers connectivity etc). So the office suite is comparable to Home and student edition from Ms.

As far as Access is concerned -- why on earth would anybody even THINK of using it --it's an absolutely HORRIBLE DB system, doesn't have multi user access and breaks at the slightest provocation.

For FREE DB systems why not use MySQL or MariaDB -- excellent, fast, robust, multi user access and 100% Free. !! And supports proper Native SQL too.

    cheers

    - only Asian options in the drop down - you show Arial in your first- I'm wondering how?
I just modified the "normal" template.

RE: Paste options. I guess it might be a browser specific issue (the way the browser handles copied items)

    Maybe:
Same text from Edge and Waterfox in WPS:

(The Simsun looks much more like join-the-dots on the screen- really poor).

    In Libre Office 6:

(Note, this hung with fans running when I pasted the Dona Sarkar text - 3 attempts).

Okay, I don't have Waterfox or Edge browsers. The only way I can get Simsun text to show up in WPS is via save as .mht addon. If I save as .mht then open saved page in WPS Writer text shows up as Simsun.

For copy/ paste directly from browser into WPS Writer without formatting I get different results using Vivaldi vs Basilisk. Using Vivaldi the pasted text shows up as helvetica in WPS Writer. Using Basilisk it shows up as arial (follows WPS Writer default (my default)

    Hi folks

For those that don't need or want subscriptions to Office 2016 / 365 etc this suite just keeps getting better and better

Downloads - WPS Office Community (Windows Link also on the page)

I've found it as pretty well compatible with Ms stuff including .xlsx formats for EXCEL (and I'm quite a power user).

Here's a complex pie chart example copied without change from the version created in EXCEL 2016

    Attachment 208928

This is in the Linux version but it's the same for Windows too.

The only thing missing in the Free versions is it won't run VBA macros update -- it DOES NOW !!!see post nr 5 in this thread - but I rarely use those --otherwise it runs pretty well everything 100% as per EXCEL .

There's no email client in the suite but unless you get Ms Office pro versions then there isn't an email client there either so use thunderbird or similar.

Personally if Ms rams subscriptions down our throats I'll convert over to this suite -- and it's free. !!!

    Cheers

Does that program have a capable email program like Outlook? If not, what email program do you use instead of Outlook?

No, as said above if I recall - Writer, Spreadsheet, Presentation.

I use Thunderbird- anything to get away from MS.

    Hi there

note latest releases of Thunderbird are going for that hideous "Auto config" system of creating email addresses --how do the developers of these programs expect people who have for example non standard email addresses / server types / different user id's and passwords on inbound and outbound mail servers etc expect to configure their email.

It's still just about get_roundable in thunderbird -- enter some micky mouse email as sillydog@gmail.com for example and then once you get past the silly auto config screen you can then go into CHANGE mode and fix it properly with servers etc.

PLEASE EMAIL PROGRAM DEVELOPERS --INCLUDES OUTLOOK 2016/2019 /365 AS WELL -- ALLOW FULL MANUAL CONFIGURATION.

    Cheers

Hmm, should I panic now, or put it in my diary for later?
I'm on v52, autoupdates (from Help) not available, but I know v60 is the next and is listed elsewhere.

    Hi there

on Linux V52 as well where manual config still works easily enough. You might need to disable / make permanent exception for security certificates on your servers if using your own domain and its mail servers.

I like the decent sort and group by sort feature on TB too -- using Windows myself less and less these days -- I hate a PRO OS having ridiculous stuff like Candy … installed by default --OK on Home machines but IMO a PRO means Professional and these types of apps have no place on a basic system you want to use in a professional workplace.

Anyway this is the version of TB I'm using --I've heard V60 is a bit of a dog but V59 is still fine. Should be identical on Windows.

I'm still using Office 2016/2019 though on Windows but quite happy with TB on Linux. If Office 2016/2019 go 100% subscription then it's TB for me !!!!

    Cheers
