    Office 365 Wrong Language Installed

I live in the UK and naturally would like an Eng-UK version but all I can download is Eng-US.

I've tried everything and looked everywhere including following a lot of MS instructions but not one of them will allow
me to either change the language or download the version I want.

Anyone give me any help or pointers please ??

    Edition - Windows 10 Home
    Version - 1803
    Installed on - 04/10/2018
    OS Build - 17134.320

Wish I could be more helpful but have you tried a chat session with MS.

Several years ago I had an issue with Office and I remember being on phone with them to resolve. Client load French and wanted English. That was at least four years ago and phone numbers are a thing of the past.

I would also sign into my Office 365 account, through a browser, and see if there is not a language setting?

Thanks for that Ken. I've look at my 365 account and nothing in there. I even deleted it and did a fresh download and reinstall to see if there was anything on the download page but alas, this is MS so no.

    Hi there
I think you can change the dictionary / proof / editing language to ENG-GB -- I'm sure there's an office language pack - you can install Office languages under (from within office) -->options-->language.

Can't verify at the moment because I'm busy installing Office 2019 for testing. However I had English, Dutch, and Icelandic for office 2016 -- all worked fine -- my Windows install is ENG-GB.

I Want to try out the new / improved EXCEL Pivot table feature. For the rest I can't see any particular reason to upgrade to office 2019 -- for EXCEL though seems good.

    Cheers

The Windows language shows as GB

which came from the original MS USB stick sent from Ireland.

I'm really baffled about this as there is no mention of language version on the Office 365 download / reinstall pages.

Further to what I have said/asked, could there just be an anomaly because looking at the language in Office it shows:

Even though the list of software in Apps and Features shows Office as en-us.

Anyone else care to take a look in the Apps and Features and see what it shows for your Office and if it actually matches your country ??

    Hi there

    @Bengie

You have to go into Office --->options--Language

Add editing language -- office will install the language pack.

You also need to ensure your windows display language is English-UK (or GB)

    Then it will work fine.

However you can have any Windows language (display) you like and / or any version of Office -- e.g Turkish if you like - the editing language will ensure office works with the chosen editing language regardless of the initial version of Office / Windows / Windows display language installed.

    Cheers

Thanks for all the answers. I think as all is fine everywhere else, it is the way MS does it. It is English-GB but just shows -US.
A friend in Sweden has both English GB and Swedish installed and it show the same on his.

    So thanks again all.
