because one can not password protect .ost files, whereas one can store .pst files within a password protected container. Anyone having access to your pc (a bit earlier in this thread I mentioned your laptop/pc being serviced)
    have access to your mail.
    Hi there
before sending laptop in for servicing simply change the password on your mail servers -- if the mail is IMAP then it will be on the server and will need a password to access it.

    Cheers

Just for my education, sounds like things have changed.

With your IMAP accounts to Non-MS domains, say gmail, is it syncing calendars and contacts. Been a while since I tried mine and it did not back then, at least with 2013. This would be nice functionality and I would even consider getting Office 365 if it did.

    Thanks
Google does not allow Gmail users to sync Gmail Contacts and Calendar to Outlook 2016 or any version of Outlook, that is a restriction on the part of a Google Policy commercial not Microsoft.
To do so you need a third party application such as those listed on this link; https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sy...endar-outlook/

Other email providers such as your ISP may have a different policy to Gmail/Google. It all depends on the email provider some will allow to sync with Outlook and some will not, its a lottery.

I wonder if on Gmail if you used 2FA and an app password if it would allow. Must test that at some point.
