Cursor Doesn't Land Where I Double Click In A Cell

Just upgraded from Excel 2000 (gasp) to the current desktop version. When I click into a cell with existing text, the cursor shows up 2 characters to the left of where I'm pointing. Drives me nuts. Where is the setting that turns off whatever that "feature" is?

    Hi chamlin

I'm on Office 2013 so not exactly the same.

I know of no setting to do this and can't imagine why anyone would want the edit to start two positions away from where you click.

Is this behavior present in Word?

Might also ask does your mouse have specific drivers and have they been loaded?

    Is your video driver current?

Before changing drivers note which driver you have. Might also create a Restore point and because that is flaky I would have a system Image I could restore.

I use is Macrium Reflect but lots out there.

Under Pointer Options tab with Additional Mouse Options there is an option to turn on Enhance pointer precision. Might try that as well.

Thanks for the ideas, Ken. Word works fine. Drivers are all current and this is a refreshed OS drive with clean win 10 pro. Will check the pointer options!
