Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 disk will not boot up in drive

I have a Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 Disk purchased New - For our home use it is perfect.
especially and a guessing game of where to click, as the laptop gets wipes out by a special person of everything, every so often. ending with a white screen and white typing.
My disk will not boot up in order to enter the 25 security code supplied on the protective box.
Last time I believe I entered the code on a Microsoft website for the download.

Think we discussed this before, run a disk Imaging tool like Macrium and restore from an Image.

Office won't boot. Navigate to disk, should be an exe called Setup. Do you see files on disk?

Office 2007 is no longer supported but should run okay.

    Hi again Ken,
Sorry for delay in responding, I saw it immediately, but got called away. I had just been following your other details, I will respond later on that topic.
Since writing earlier, as I could not even get the dvd/cd RW drive recognised,. But I found out that by pressing the windows key and E key I got internet explorer and it showed up there as; DVD RWDrive(D:) OFFICE 12, also with the list of options including "Install or run program from Your Computer" so I clicked this put in the 25 alpha Numeric key and a Program called "Microsoft Setup Boot Strapper asked permission to continue and got it. However at the end of it I cannot see MS Word and when I tried to get a short cut I got one for a CD and not Office word as I have got |Office Word on my PC using same disk. I have tried to use just the install option but MS Boot Strapper just went through a configuration process and ended.
The Files Currently on the disk (14) starting from the top are:
    Catalog files 12 security; Excel en-us; Home Student WW; Office 64 en-us; One Note en-us; Power Point en-Us;
Proofing en-us; RoseBud en-us; Updates; Word en-us; Autorun; Read Me Listing requirements; Setup:
We know MS 10 can read them I have the same off the same disk.
How will Macrium help, will it make my ACER Laptop read the disk easier.
    Thank you Ken.
    Regards Bill

    Hi Bill.

Macrium is and isn't a different subject. If we image a working machine and its get altered we restore it and move on.

With the CD in machine you should be able to see in file explorer, then double click on Setup.

I have seen myself where DVD / CD does not appear in list. Can't remember what fix was and quick research did not find answer.

I think I right clicked start, click on device manager and the navigated to DVD in list. Once I click on it file explorer seemed to work. I will keep looking for fix.

In meantime if you think it installed click start and then type the word "Word" if installed it should pop to top of list.

    Hi Ken,
I was on the point of giving up,
I had uninstalled whatever had been installed. using MS Bootstrapper.
Clicked on the Icon left on the desktop as a cd player, whereas it is a DVD RW player then selected Autoplay.
The Options given: "Install or run Program from your Media (Run Setup.exe)
Open Folder to view files (File Explorer) and take No action.
I checked the 14 files were the same as before and run Setup.exe This takes you to MS Bootstrapper andput in the alphanumeric code again, But this time as wanted Word using advance Just Word was selected for Installing or running the program from computer.
Later I saw that Excel, Word and Power Point had icons in the Start Menu and moved them on to the desktop and task bar.
Thank you Ken and Bree for help and inspiration. I was almost resigned to accept to give up. I will try a screen print
made small from a word doc. Sorry I cannot see how to attach or paste it
    Regards
    Bill

There is a nice little tool in Windows call Snipping tool. With what you want to capture on screen, click start, type Snipping tool. Should be at top of list. Click, program starts. Click "New". Screen will get a haze over it. Position mouse pointer in upper left corner of area you want to snip. Click and hold left mouse down and pull to lower right corner.

You should have a window with no haze showing your snip. Come to a post and paste (CRTL + V).

Don't like the snip, click new again and do over.

"Open Folder to view files (File Explorer) "

Physical disks can fail or get corrupted. Even if you are successful using the DVD, if your installation disk is visible in File Explorer to see this option, choose it. Select All and copy to a New folder somewhere, named Office 2007, or whatever. This is a good way to backup the DVD so the files, incl setup, can be run any time from File Explorer, as if the DVD is in the drive, running or not recognized. Next time, you may not be lucky enough to have the DVD work. Good Luck.

    Hi,
I'm pretty sure you can download office from MS website if you have a valid activation key,
Or I also believe this site offers downloads
Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool
