Convert .doc to .docx ribbon to 2016's default settings?

I use Microsoft Home & Student 2016. I have some Word 2000 documents I want to convert to Word 2016.
--- I just opened a Word 2000 .doc and converted it to .docx.

Then I changed the Word 2000 text TNR fonts to Word 2016's text fonts to Calibri 11 manually.

But then the ribbon headings in the converted 2000 .doc document hadn't converted to the 2016.docx ribbon headings.

Is it possible to set the converted .doc to .docx ribbon to 2016's default settings?

Don't know if it's the solution or even if it's a problem but opening documents/files from one program in a similar program but different version shouldn't change how the similar program looks. I've tested a Word from Office 2013 document in Office 2000 with the compatibility pack installed and the menu bars at the top of Word 2000 didn't change.

At the base level all Word documents, layout and things such as font usage, Margins, languages and formats used in styles, are held in the Master document Template - Normal.dot. [or Dotx]

This master file may be different settings in different versions as shipped, and they also could be modified by the user

It should be possible if you have the originating program version for a Document, to copy the Normal.dot to the new version.

Even if you can do this, things such as original printer selection can give minor variations, (many old Inkjet printers added a safety zone to any margins set, by the author)

Also, if you have a document that was actually created by one of the many Free Word Clones, has at any time been edited in one of these or is going into one then the document changes can be many

I looked up quite a few articles today and did not find a process to convert a 2000 .doc to a 2013 .docx with the portion of the ribbon headings automatically to the 2016 settings. Berton I had a compatibility pack when I was using Office 2000 but when I got H&S 2016 I uninstalled it because I read Microsoft either didn't support it or it reached EOL. Barman58 I work with every version of Word from 97-2003 etc. at the Senior Center where I volunteer so I have some challenges sometimes but I use my Office H&S 2016.
Anyway no more attempts to convert anything any more. 2013 & 2016 work very well together at least as of today's world. For the older versions I have a manual process that worked excellently in which my 2016 settings, headings and everything else are all intact on each one of my 10 Word 2000 documents I did today.

I have a Word 2016 default document always available just for working with my older Word 2000 documents.
When I need it I do a Save As with the title I want, open the document I want to become Word 2016, copy and paste everything and then take a few minutes to adjust the fonts. My process is a manual process, but I haven't found an "automatic" or working process to completely come through at least on the Word 2000 documents I did today. If I don't find or receive a working process within a few days I'll mark this thread solved. Thanks both of you for your responses.

One thing you could look into is converting Your standard document into a Template then assign a template to the document as you "import" them - If you wish you could create a few templates to suit the various older versions you work with and store them somewhere and apply them as you "import" the files

Creating the template is quite easy, load up the document and manually correct the things such as font, paragraph ,Headings, Margins Etc. and when happy Save the file as a template (an File Type option on the "save as" procedure with a name that makes it easy to ID later (version number would be logical but others may be better to meet your needs ).

This should also allow you to assign the parameters to your toolbar "headings" (Paragraph Styles), section as these are included in the template so applying a template that was saved with the correct settings for the paragraph styles should give you the look you want

I've done this type of thing in commercial situations and have often added a startup macro in the default Normal.dot that gives a choice when you open a document to process it in a particular way but although it can be impressive, (for the one paying my invoice

Solution is a manual process for Word 2000.doc to Word 2016.docx.
--- This is the process I've been using for the last few days to ensure it works every time.

Created a Word 2016 Moderate Template. Open a Word 2000.doc document, Select All: copy and paste everything into the Word 2016 Moderate Template: select Normal in the Ribbon, select Calibri 11 for the font for everything: set Headers to Heading 1 or Heading 2 as appropriate, Save As with applicable title. Done within seconds.
