Excel In Office Home & Student 2016 Global Changes

Between yesterday and this morning something's changed. Previous settings for ALL workbooks had Page Setup/Sheet Tab configured to print Gridlines and NOT the Row and column headings for all the spreadsheets in all workbooks. The opposite of what's displayed.

As of this morning this is reversed in every workbook and when I change this it does not get saved in any of the workbooks. What do I have to do to get this back to my original setup? Any other changes or editing data does get saved. Just not the printing.

I really need some help with this. As always, TIA for your time, attention, and help.

I don't have that version and there does not seem to be a setting for same, globally, in 2013.

Were updates applied to Windows or Office yesterday?

Real long shot, was your print driver(s) updated. What happens if you pick different printer, can you save changes?

Might be worth running the Office repair.

I can't find any global print settings either.

Best I can tell, no updates for Windows or Office since my last printing. Don't look like drivers updated either.

I'll see what I can find about Office Repair.

Went ahead and did the full blown Online Repair. No change. Those settings are still not being saved. Margins, Headers, & Footers aresaved.

    Did you change printers?

Only have the one. I did play with trading drivers and no change.

After two hours of playing with this it's saving sometimes, but not more than twice. Just started on it's own. Then open the workbook and it's back to the NO Gridlines and Headings ON.

Nothing else has changed in Office that I can find.

@Wiley Coyote I had similar problems with Home and Student 2010 version. Switched to free Libre Office, never looked back. Libre office is free and does the same, if not more than Office.

With regards to problem. If you start Excel from the icon and then start a brand new spreadsheet does it act the same?

Any chance a theme may have been installed File > Options > General > In personalization section?

    EDIT:

Please also check to see if any add-ins have become active.

New Workbook/Spreadsheet has Guidelines and Headings off, Un-Checked.

No new Themes installed. Colorful has been the default since Initial Install and Startup.

    No Active Add-Ins.
@Stitch194 I can appreciate what you're saying. I'd like to keep Office unless it's unworkable.

And @Caledon Ken I certainly appreciate your time and efforts to help me figure this one out. One or both of us are missing something.

    Edit:

Copy or Move an existing spreadsheet into a NEW Workbook brings the "failed" print selections with it.

So new sheet is defaulting to normal excel, they are off by default on my 2013. If you turn on gridlines and save it, then open it and change it is it remembering format choices.

Guess I'm trying to determine is it older worksheets that display this behavior or newer.

By the way are these xls or xlsx spreadsheets. There is that save compatibility warning you can get and I think you can check mark such that it will stop warning or asking about saving compatibility.
