    Excel crashes after update

    Hi,

My PC recently did an automatic update or something similar and now Excel crashes suddenly if I edit certain cells on spreadsheets. I have tried creating new spreadsheets thinking maybe the old ones were corrupted but same thing. I feel its related to the update.
This brings me to the next query. Windows 10 sometimes does a "reset" - for example i have I have edited the registry to remove the shortcut arrows on desktop icons. After it does this "reset" they return. Also the Windows 10 packaged software I removed (eg Xbox, Groove music) returns aswell. Any idea how to stop this?

    Thanks

I find when Office crashes, the best solution is to uninstall it using Revo Uninstaller, and reinstalling fron scratch. You need your Office installation key before doing this.

    This doesn't work.

Problem is with 64-bit Win10 ver 1803. No problem with 32-bit version.

    A workaround is:
    1. Select all cells, change justification to something different.
    2. Enter you data or whatever.
    3. Select all cells, change justification back.
    4. Save

    Thanks Comp Cmndo,
Yes my system is 64 bit and the work around seems to have fixed my problem temporarily.
Do you know if Microsoft is working on an update to fix this?

This worked for me. All I had to do is change to left justify or center and it started working. Then I had to open all spreadsheets to make the change on all.

    Interesting.
I'll save this "work-around" to my Tutorials folder.
    Thank you.
