There's a bug in Microsoft 365 Outlook that won't let emails be moved to other folders.

I have a listing of folders I put related emails in.

I have a Genealogy folder for everything related to Genealogy. When I get an email relating, I grab it and drag it to the Genealogy folder.

However, with the Beta Channel update to 14014.20002, it's no longer possible. I get a message saying: Cannot Move the Items.

Here's a link to the thread I started before I knew this was a bug . . . I'm keeping it updated with each new piece of information I find.

    Can't Move This File
    Update:

The support team got trace logging from one of the reported "Can't move these files" cases and have escalated a bug to the Outlook Team.

So, maybe we'll have a fix pretty soon.

Oh, thank goodness. Because recently my Archive function stopped working completely across all accounts. Figured it had something to do with an update somewhere, but I haven't really had the time to explore it much, just used alternative means to archive them.

    Thanks Wynona.

Actually, I just loaded Outlook and Archiving is working again.

    Outlook v2105 (Build 14021-20000 CTR)
    βeta channel

    Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (16.0.14021.20000) 64-bit

    Hmmm.

That's because we have a fix, John!

The Outlook Team identified the issue and made a service change last evening that should mitigate the issue. If you are still seeing the issue, restart Outlook a couple times for it to pick up the service change. Thank you for submitting tickets and working through the issue while we investigated it.
Ain't it fun working with the Betas!?! It's always nice, though, to discover it's a simple bug rather than something I did wrong!

Ayup - it sure is lol. At least they got it fixed before it became too much of an issue for me, and everyone else.

And now . . . back to our regular programming schedule with @Brink at the helm.
