Windows #OfficeInsiders, some of you may have already noticed that the brand new Office icons have started rolling out to #InsiderFast users! They will continue to roll out to more users over time.

Some of my icons have changed (Outlook, Word) but some are still the same. I've even tried opening all of the Office programs, but the icon did not change.

    Hi folks.

Honestly as a business user I don't care about the icons -- I'd much rather have increased functionality especially in EXCEL -- e.g easier wizards for pivot tables (Ms is improving those currently), much easier ways of downloading data from web and updating in real time (it's still a relative hassle to get good stock market real time analysis in EXCEL) , better built in use of multi-media and collaborative spread sheets where several people can work say on a version of a spreadsheet while on a conference / skype type of setting.

I'd also like to see macros etc eliminate the need for VBA - surely could be possible to use some sort of meta language could be used -- python / perl etc are probably good candidates as they also work on any platform which would include android tablets etc. C/C++ is a bit too geeky but python is really easy as is a lot of perl.

    3. Using Python on Windows Python 3.7.3 documentation

BTW using python you can overcome the path / file name restriction of 266 chars too.

Anyway that's just my take on it.

    Cheers

Uh, this one is odd - but I do remember it happening before to me....

I have 11514.20004 installed as the latest Insider build, and checking for updates does not show me anything new.

Update History for Office Insider Channel | Microsoft Docs shows the latest being 11520.20004 - Since this kinda thing has happened before, I'm betting it's another typo on the Insider blog....

Yeah, I'd say typo as well. All the source links in the post below show 11514.20004 for March 22.
