    Hi there

if you have any influence with Ms - please get them to restore old Outlook setup menus - current dumbed down versions make setting up almost any email address that isn't or especially on imap / exchange mail servers with different passwords / user id's on the input / output mail servers nearly impossible.

Give people quick easy kindergarten menu if they want it and it works but allow others to install this stuff manually -- I'm sure a load of sys admins must be tearing their hair out at getting people's computers working properly if they are using latest versions of Outlook 2016 or 2019 - especially the click2run rubbish.

What was wrong with old iso which worked every time. e.g which gives options available on all fields -- woe betide people with Office 2019 who use their own domains / mail servers !!!!!!

    Attachment 222332

(There are a few get arounds to get some of the old menus back - but really we shouldn't have to go through all these hoops etc just to set up an email address !!).

So I'm saying currently -- Long Live Office 2010 - installation and updates perfect works every time and email accounts - whatever complexities your server(s) / domains have causes no probs whatsoever -- I'm keeping this until at least EOL in Dec 2020.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with you in some respects - they've really gone to incredible lengths to 'dumb things down' for the end user (much in the same way WinX has, as well).

However, I also do not use Outlook as my daily email program.

And I don't have any (known) 'influence' with M$ in any way that I know of.

Mine updated Friday just after they released the blog
I hadn't run any Office programs since the beginning of the year on my desktop. I just manually checked today to see this new version come out.
