    office install error

I am trying to reinstall office 2010 back onto my system and no matter what i do I cant get it to install. Ive tried using revo uninstaller to uninstall it completely; that didnt work; Ive tried using remove programs; that didnt work and ive tried a number of other things to get this resolved; but nothing has. Now; Im a computer nerd and have been for 30+ years; but this one has me stumped. Please assist me. Thanks Matt.

    1. If I understand correctly, your Office 2010 is still in the system.
    2. It does not work well or not working.
    3. You tried to reinstall but failed.
    4. Uninstall did not work.

I have Office 2007. I can go to Programs and Features > right click at MS Office 2007> click Change > click Repair.
Do you have that option in Office 2010 ?
If yes, have you tried it ?

yes i have tried to uninstall; as well as to a office "repair" and neither one will work. It just keeps saying "setup has encountered an error" but it wont tell me what the error is.

It is hard to understand why Revo Uninstaller was unable to uninstall.
I do not have a solution for you. My apology.

Do you have a system image you can go back to? If it's early enough Office 2010 may even be working, at least it may be possible to go back before the Revo uninstaller was used and do an office Repair.

I am still having a issue trying to reinstall office 2010. It just says it encountered a error during startup but it wont tell me what the error is nor is there any error code. this is driving me crazy even for a computer nerd like myself.

i got the same error message when installing MS Office 2010 Pro. Plus on Windows 10 64bit. Please look at the picture at http://prntscr.com/i8fuk3 I've also tried installing the 32bit version of the same Office version and it still says the same error message. Interestingly, it looks like I can't even install any other MS Office version because I've tried installing Office 2013 and 2016 and they all give me the same error message as when installing Office 2010. Please help.

Problems reinstalling offices can often be due to an incomplete removal of a previous install. Spunk has already given a link to the Removal Tool.....
