update win 10 32 bit to 64 bit

My old Dell 530S mother board will run 32 bit or 64 bit, it came with 32 bit. So when I did the free upgrade from win 7 to win 10 it of course kept it at 32 bit. I did the reset of win 10 but did not see any option for 64 bit. All the computers in the family are 64 bit.
Can I upgrade from 32 to 64 bit, if so how?

Yes and No. Yes...in that you cam move to 64 bit but No in the fact of an upgrade because of the architecture. You will have to get a new copy of windows that is 64 bit and do a clean install.

How much ram have you got the only point of going to 64 bit is if you have more than 4 gig of ram if you have less there is nothing gained and likely will be slower

Right, I have the 32-bit version on an older Notebook and the 64-bit version on a similar older Notebook, same brands but different models. Both have 4GB RAM modules but the 32-bit shows only about 3.5GB, it is a limit of the 32-bit. Not a problem, both run the same programs quite well.

Only thing stopping is $$ since it will take a new Win 10 64 bit OS and while your doing it spring for the Pro version.

You can use the same license but need to clean install
Use this to get W10, using a ms account it will activate no issue. Just like the other posted

Incorrect. The same license covers 32-bit or 64-bit of the same edition of Windows. The OP can download 64-bit for free from Microsoft, do a clean install of it, and activate with the same license the 32-bit version was activated with. Activation should even be automatic over the internet.
