If your having problems I would bet its because of Ccleaner. I find that program does more harm than good
    Seriously? How so?

Really, I`ve been using CCleaner for a very long time, never had any issues with it.

So have I, but I never, ever, use the registry cleaning options - I just clean out the junk files, internet caches and cookies. It's particularly good for the last of those, as Edge/IE has no way to selectively clean cookies, while CCleaner can whitelist the ones you need to keep.

Ccleaner is like any other program. It must be used wisely.

Yes I use the Registry Cleaner, BUT I research what Ccleaner wants to remove. If i agree I remove it.
I find it worth while after uninstalling programs. It finds junk left over.

I remove program (xxxx) and Ccleaner finds leftover (xxxx) I remove it.

Ccleaner makes suggestions of things to remove. As a owner and operator it's my decision whether to remove or not.

I've done a little cleaning of my registry in the past using Ccleaner. I haven't done it recently, so I don't know if it works in the same way now or not, but before I did the cleaning, it allowed me to "undo" it by giving me a file to click on to restore what was in the Registry before the cleaning in case my computer started having problems as a result. I actually did start having problems once and was able to correct it by clicking on that file and undoing the damage.

And finally I sure see a lot of people having problems with Win 10 but for me personally I have never had one problem with Win 10 since I upgraded to it since day one.....No matter what version or updates.
When you upgrade, do all of your default program preferences stay as you set them? Do any programs suddenly go missing?

That article, like all of it's ilk, warns of possible damage. Not once have I seen a report of actual damage caused by CCLeaner. I use it often on multiple computers and have never, ever had a problem. I'm talking about hundreds of computers over 10+ years of use. And contrary to most, I use the Advanced mode, do a Select all and delete. I also always Backup what is being deleted in the unlikely case a problem does arise but have never had to restore the backed up registry data.

That's real world, real time use.
