No idea. I think it originally came from here: Fix Windows Error Code 80070005 Easily | Error.Info
I just finished wasting another 2 hours trying this again. Unbelievable that anyone should have to go through this. Just reporting that the dcomcnfg thing did NOT work. Got the exact same error message.
I don't get it: where is MS in all this? If it has to do with too many ppl downloading, then why would they release it to everyone at the same time? An error code that no one seems to have an answer to, or if you get lucky, a random answer that works.
Same thing here with the Windows 10 checking, downloading installing up to whatever 99% then 80070005.
After 3x and a couple different approaches I usually say screw it, but 10 or more ....I am .obsessed.
No real answer anywhere..well so far...there is a lot of maybes.
And the great media creation tool job is downloaded and wasting 18.7mb on my drive but won't do anything.
The good new is I did get some new drivers apparently from the 10 package that WIN7 didn't think I needed.
Wireless, ethernet and NVidia. The wireless I had to go to device manager and update driver from there. The PCI gbe host controller(whatever it was called for ethernet network) I had to uninstall, then use windows update.
Both failed previously during the windows update with 80070103.
NVidia worked through Win update. After those three I tried WIN10 again and lost again.
I am happy with windows 7 but just want the thrill of a new operating system.
I'll come back tomorrow after the morning coffee and try the 8007005 error code resolution>cough:cough<...posted above.
Couldn't wait.... whatever that was supposed to do....everything looked spot on.
Does that mean it worked??????Couldn't wait.... whatever that was supposed to do....everything looked spot on.
Regret it hasn't worked for me. 4th attempt now and not able to get MediaCreationToolx64 ro run to go that way.
