Please run windows driver verifier for 48 hours.
There may be sluggishness while using Windows driver verifer.
If there are any BSOD please post a zip into the thread for troubleshooting:
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
After the last BSOD plan to run windows driver verifier for an additional 36 hours.
If there are no BSOD during this period that will conclude the windows driver verifier testing.

Not a single BSOD while running with Driver Verifier turned on as requested. Did a verifier /reset and rebooted.

So I've done everything you asked, now what should be done to get this fixed - it's clear there's no hardware fault.

During the past 2 weeks what problems were you experiencing?
    a) are they better, worse, or the same?
    b) what makes the problems worse?
    c) what makes the problems better?
    d) what is the frequency of the problems?
    e) what can either increase or decrease the frequency?
Please post a new DM log collector zip and memory dump.
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
memory dump file: %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP or C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMPUse file explorer > this PC > local C: drive > right upper corner search enter each of the above to find results > post into the thread using one drive or drop box.

I've had NO problems with the system whatsoever. The ONLY problem I had was the failure to install the fall update, for which I have received no assistance even though I provided all the requested diagnostics

That's great that the BSOD have been fixed.
For the failure to upgrade they can be complex so there is a forum for installation and upgrade:
Installation and Upgrade - Windows 10 Forums
In this forum many people at one time can troubleshoot the logs.
A lot of the logs are in code and take time to decode.
Sometimes Windows will display the failure in English and then it can be easily troubleshooted.
More often it can be looking for a needle in a haystack.
The method that you use in backing up files with an image may give you additional options where you may be able to clean install windows FCU and then restore files.

Please start a thread in the Upgrade forum and include the following:
    1) Link to this thread
    2) The websites used for the bios and driver updates
    3) The latest Windows failure messages or codes
    3) One drive or drop box share links for the Panther logs

    4) The fresher the logs for the upgrade failure the more useful the logs will be.

    5) Download and install Everything search:
    voidtools

    6) search for and post share links for any of these Panther folders /files:

    C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther
    C:\Windows\Panther
    setuperr.log
    setupact.log
    Setupmem.dmp.................... $Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupmem.dmp
    setupapi.dev.log.................... $Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
    BlueBox.log
    $Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback*.evtx
    C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback
    $Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupmem.dmp
    $Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback*.evtx
    $Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
    Setupmem.dmp
    setupapi.dev.log
    Event logs (*.evtx)
    setupapi.dev.log--> %SystemRoot%\INF
    Event logs (*.evtx)-->Event Viewer\Windows Logs\Applications, System
