C'mon fella, how many ways do you want me to prove the HDD is good - HDTune says it is good, chkdsk says it is good, HD Sentinel text report says good. The image snaps from HD Sentinel will tell you exactly the same as the full text report I already posted. I ran a FULL HD Sentinel surface test on each of these drives a while back and it took *AGES*.

It had the bitmap fixed and HD sentinel report displayed errors and to backup the drive.
So please post images of the test results so the full results are available.

The hard disk reports the following problems:
Total uncorrected read errors = 4012
Total uncorrected verify errors = 3577
It is recommended to backup often to prevent data loss.

Why on earth should I do full disk scans etc on disks that are not involved in the Windows upgrade. The second 600GB drive was an unallocated spare until I copied the Boot partition after the failed update. The 419GB drive is unused, and the 279 GB drive only stores Virtual machine images, and one application which is huge but rarely used.

The errors you are complaining about apply to a drive that had those errors logged in the SMART report when I got it, it has since had a COMPLETE surface scan with NO ERRORS and in in ANY CASE IS NOT IN USE!!!

The main system drive (drive 0) is just fine apart from the bitmap errors reported by the chkdsk and those very likely occurred at the time of the update failure.

The event viewer displayed corruption in the MFT.
    The volume was ?
    Malfunctioning drives sometimes cause BSOD.
Some drive problems have already been found in the testing.
So its best to know the status of all drives.

No, ONE bitmap error was found. The disk errors in the SMART report relate to a problem which occurred on a server far far away when there was a power problem, this caused a number of badly written sectors. That was cleared completely when the disk was reformatted, but the history remains in the SMART data, and the drive in question IS NOT IN USE.

The one that is not in use. The ONLY drive in day to day use is the top drive (drive 0).

How come the logs displayed all of these drives attached to the system:
Model HITACHI HUS1560SCSUN600G SCSI Disk Device
Model HITACHI HUS156045VLS600 SCSI Disk Device
Model SEAGATE ST3300655SS SCSI Disk Device

The image displays overview for a different drive than the other two images.

because they are physially installed and present. The ONLY drives in actual use are drives 0 and 1. drive 0 has the Windows installation on it, drive 1 has the Virtual Machine images and one rarely used application.
