So I saved the partition with all the upgrade logs and presumably the crash dump file. What can I extract from it to help to resolve this issue and to where should I upload it

To find the cause of BSOD:

    memory dump file:
    %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP or
    C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP

    mini dump files:
    %SystemRoot%\Minidump or
    c:\windows\minidump

Use file explorer > this PC > local C: drive > right upper corner search enter each of the above to find results > post into the thread using one drive or drop box share links.

If there is an active operating system with windows error reporting then run the DM log collector to collect other important files:

I've put the dump file on my web server.

The BSOD debugging did not display any non-Microsoft misbehaving drivers.

To evaluate the computer instability these are options at this time:
    1) use windows driver verifier to see if drivers are stable or unstable and replace any unstable or misbehaving drivers
    2) observe the computer over time and wait for the next bsod
    3) attempt another upgrade and save any dumps for analysis
    4) troubleshoot the Panther logs
    5) this links are for reading at this time:

    Please post a new zip:

Open the Dell website > enter the computer's serial or product number > post a URL into the thread

Also Dell has online diagnostics. Run the diagnostics and post images of the results into the thread.

System has been as stable as as a rock on Creator Edition, so really don't think its a hardware issue. Not had a BSOD since I replaced the nVidia card with an ATI one (bad set of nVidia drivers a long while ago). I can upload the Panther logs, just tell me the files you want.

I can almost g'tee that doing the updgrade again will fail identically - two attempts at the upgrade failing identically seems pretty poor chance of success on retry.

No misbehaving non-MS drivers: - I note you said nothing about misbehaving MS drivers.

I'd like to help on this, but it takes a whole day to attempt the upgrade and restore the backup when it fails.

How to get MS to pay attention?

    Please post a zip.
    The logs will be troubleshooted.

Ordinarily windows updates fix Microsoft drivers.
So we look for misbehaving non-Microsoft drivers and then upgrade, uninstall, or roll back the misbehaving drivers.

The DM log collector is automatic.
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
It will collect the needed logs.
Then when it appears on the desktop make a zip and post it into the thread.
It should collect approximately 15 files: mini dumps, msinfo32, dxdiag, installed, uninstalled, hosts, event log, drivers, etc.
