My last way that i mentioned and tried has worked. I now have a fully functional Windows 10 on my laptop.
Congratulations - yes, setting the 'user agent string' to 'Safari' is a known way to get the .iso directly from MS. Did you use Chrome as that link did? You can also do it in Edge using F12 to bring up the 'Developers tools'. Anyway, you should no be running Fall Creators Update - enjoy :)

After using the link i provided I still hit upon problems during the install process. It said i would have to add the language pack after install but i continued then around 40 per cent finished it hit upon more problems and reverted me back to my previous version. I then tried it but decided to keep no personal files or apps and it installed without problems so i suggest you back up all personal files and do it this way.
For anyone who does need the language pack after install they can be found here Windows 10 Language Packs Direct Download Links
I have come to the conclusion that Windows 10 is a nightmare and unless you absolutely must have it then stick to Windows 7. I now have it installed but when i switch on i get asked two questions about which language i want and then which network am i connecting too. It then says its applying settings and restarts only to ask me the same two questions and do this all over again so im now stuck in a loop but i do have windows 10 lol. Any suggestions to solve this problem?
Yea, the site I downloaded from said it would install older version, I installed it and it was FCU 1709 installed. no updating at all.

Yeah using Edge to do it is so easy, no downloads of extensions. I always advise Edge now as all users except OCDists have Edge.

f12 developers tool, select emulation tab, choose Safari in user agent string, and optionally click icon to put developer screen into a separate window so it can be minimised.

Changing user agent string don't work, the only change with Safari is no actual error number, but it still says error.
Applies to Edge and IE 11.
    Nor does Chrome work.

I was getting that exact error message yesterday. Re downloaded and tried again, same deal. Tried a few of the suggestions with no luck. Then gave up as I have access to MSDN. Just for fun today I re downloaded MediaCreationTool.exe and its working again? I was getting that error before the EULA page, basically right after running it. Now it's downloading the ISO as I type this. This is the first and only time its ever failed to run for me.

Mediacreationtool was in the default download folder, I cut it / paste it to the root of c: (the main hard disk) and it works.
