    Media Creation Tool error 0x80072f76-0x20017


    Im getting an error when I try to run the media creation tool - Ive run it before without issues on the same PC but I am now unable to use it all ?

    Hey, i just solved this problem.
    Right click the EXE
    Go to Properties
    go to general
    then at the bottom should be a box saying "Unblock" click that and you should be good.
    enjoy.

    Hey Kingrollo,

    I had this problem today and followed a lot of seemingly useful advice with no luck.

    I then realised that I downloaded the tool in a different browser which saved it to my downloads folder.

    Moving the .exe to the desktop worked and I am now creating a USB installation disk.

    Hope this works for you.

    thanks guys but none of the above worked.
    I can't even get it to run on a different computer - is it possible the problem is at microsofts end ?

    Working fine for me right now. I clicked on Download Tool Now in Microsoft Edge, selected the Run option instead of Save As, and it's happily downloading away.

    yes downloaded fresh tool - tried running as admin - running without saving, saving, copying file onto desktop - always the same error can only think somehow I am download a duff file.......but others are perhaps getting a different file. I am in uk and ISP is sky......is there anyway anyone could get me a working file ?

    From the UK, also getting the same error when attempting to create USB installation media.
