How do I disable Windows 10 back up my data when installing update?

I don't want Windows 10 back up my old Windows before installing new update to save my time because I don't have any important data.

    Hello Nam, :)

You will be able to delete the Windows.old folder right afterwards if you like.

I'm not aware of a way to prevent the Windows.old folder from being created when upgrading Windows.

Yeah. I thought so, but I also ask if anyone know how.

That's just silly, why would you want to ? If something goes wrong with the installation (yeah, NO install complaints ever posted here ), you're not happy with the features or an old program doesn't work, should you not be allowed to roll back ? A very small percentage of users would EVER have a system image on hand to reinstall.

What you want to do then, is called clean install including wiping all partitions, lol.

What happens if there isn't enough space for Windows.Old ? I haven't tested that scenario.

Doesn't Setup still work the way it did for the first release?

...setup will first perform a compatibility check to see if you have enough disk space. If you don’t, you’ll see the message, “Windows needs more space”, informing you how much space you need to have available and providing several options for installing Windows...
