SSD
Hi. I installed a SSD in my laptop--Acer ES1-711--and cloned it with EaseUs Todo Home Edition. My recovery partition was not cloned. I tried to cone the recovery partition, but that did not work. So I download Macrium Reflect and it say nothing copied insufficient space. the target drive is my old HDD, which is attached via usb cable to my laptop. I am hoping I do not have to take the ssd out of the laptop. What should I do? Any assistance will be appreciated. deanie 44

The recovery partition should have been been cloned. Try using EASEUS Partition Master and clone the entire Drive not just the partitions.

What make/model SSD did you buy? Usually with SSD's they come with their own version of cloning software or a software that they recommend using.

That's the brand (thanks), what's the model?

Sorry. SSD7CS900-240-RB. Thank you. Plankton, if I wipe the ssd, which is in my laptop it will be blank and I cannot use the software.

Thanks....so it seems it comes with a key for Acronis which is what PNY suggest you use. Why didn't you use it and why didn't you clone the whole drive when you first cloned it?

Thank you. I found the directions. should I take the ssd out of the laptop? Can I clone it with it inside? I did clone the entire system. should I clone the system or just the partitions?

Hi, just wondering- do you mean clone, i.e. an exact copy of the whole drive, or are you actually trying to create a disk image as a backup?
(A disk image is a compressed copy of the used part of the imaged disk(s) or partition(s) you have selected, which can be restored to a disk should there be a problem, or mounted so as to extract files and folders)

Dalchina I am trying to clone the drive again. When I use easeus to do It did not include the recovery drive. I am glad I did not buy rhe software. I am trying to clone the drive with Acronis True Image, which had a key included in the instructions. My fault. It seems to be working. Thank you. deanie44
