I may wait a few days to see if it does try by itself again...if not I will try the reset... no real rush to download lol ... I have just manually checked for updates and it still say's up to date ... Could it be my notebook is not compatible? it is about 18 months to 2 years old now, shipped with Windows 10 and all OS updates have gone smooth so far...if that was the case I would think it would have failed before 65% downloaded ... it went through the preparing to install OK..

Your machine is up to date for the Version you are on. On Tuesday I was a laptop that had not converted to 1703.

MS releases this in stages, yours being only 18 months old will likely mean an early delivery but not day 1.

I know it updated last week... just seems strange it started went to 65% downloaded and stopped/failed..

I would think if a compatibility issue it would not go that far. It had created the windowsbt folder which I cleaned up..

Will see if, as it said in the message it will try again...

I just think it would have gone past download onto install then fail if there was an issue with the notebook... unless my logic is wrong... lol after all it had not even downloaded completely...

Will see what happens over the next few days, have mu Macrium backup every night if needed...

Mine took around 4 hours with many % numbers staying the same for ages, you have to wait. The HDD was pretty much 100% during all that time, it may look stalled or failed but it was not.

This was the third one and they were all like that. It's an 'event' people should get used to.

I did not interrupt anything... I noticed it was available, it said preparing to install, then said downloading, but once it got to 65% downloaded it came up with there was an error and it will try later....

It never even got to installing or restarting to install, just failed to download... notebook was on all the time and I was just watching what it was doing..

Out of curiosity does anything look wrong with the "Reportingevent.log" the download started soon after the first entry...

Confusing for an idiot like me lol....
