    ISO

I read many posts but they had to do with problems.
I am trying to both install the fall creator when it is out Tuesday and also create a bootable ISO file of the OS.
It seems the first or the update will be automatic.
My question is, where do I get the ISO file to use with Rufus? Is there a stand alone file somewhere or do I have to use the MCT?

I am not very techy so could you help me a bit.
I have downloaded Rufus which I watched a tutorial about.
Where and when do I get this ISO file?
I was told there is another way other than the tool; that person said they found it slow but would not elaborate further.

    Hi,
All you'd have to use is the upgrade assistant it can do an inplace upgrade or it can create a iso you can use rufus with or it can also create the flash media for you

Er no - there are always ways of getting iso, just MCT is easiest. In fact MCT does not actually download iso, but downloads files to create iso.

    No, maybe tomorrow (Oct 16th).
Right-click on the MCT file, select properties, then details & the version will be shown.
Today, it asks to download the latest version of MCT, which is the previous version.

    It's shown in another thread.

@ Thrashzone - So with the assistant, I can actually create a bootable stick without a third party.
Maybe I could do this after the update from MS.

With the Media Creation Tool you can Upgrade in place or create media (ISO or bootable USB) without a third party. Here is the tutorial to do that. So far with the Upgrade Assistant you can only upgrade.

Read the tutorial in Thrashzone's first post about the Upgade Assistant. There is no procedure for creating a bootable stick or any media for that matter.

    Hi,
As soon as the newest build is released the upgrade assistant can be used yes :)
One will get a similar message as the creators update delivered
