Right-click on the MCT file, select properties, then details & the version will be shown.
Today, it asks to download the latest version of MCT, which is the previous version.
That's a new version of the MCT that was accidentally leaked. It may (or may not) be the final version of the MCT that will be published on or after the launch on the 17th. However, it can be made to work now. It just needs an extra file to tell it that it is, after all, the latest version. RFS linked to an article with the instructions which I used to make my USB media.

This close to launch it's hardly worth the effort though. Download the new MCT from the usual page when it's released, check its Details to be sure you have the 16299 one and use its option to 'make media for another PC', either ISO or USB.

It did not seem to have the OneDrive On-Demand feature. All else seemed fine. How about on your end?

Er no - there are always ways of getting iso, just MCT is easiest. In fact MCT does not actually download iso, but downloads files to create iso.
...or make a USB, the files needed are the same, the MCT just packages them for the media of your choice.

If you use a machine that isn't running Windows to go to the page where you download the MCT you'll be redirect to one where you can download an ISO directly from Microsoft. With a bit of fiddling in the F12 Developers Tools you can make Edge appear to be a non-windows browser and get the ISO directly.

    I have ver 1703 and build 15063.674
Can I let Windows install the update on Tuesday/Wednesday then create the tool after that?
I am getting confused what I use to have Windows create the stick without third party.Sorry but I would like a stick but am not to good at this. There is an assistant and a tool at the download link. I don't know which to use.

The MCT will create a bootable USB stick or a bootable DVD. If you go with the USB route.....there's no need to use rufus.

And Dummy me installed early with the leaked MCT, and now Stuck on WIndows 10 Home, when I had Pro before, and so far can't get it to Switch to Pro lol, so looks like be doing major repair tomorrow

    Tried system image restore
    and still got Home

so guess plan of action is either go back to 15063 clean install way, Wait til tomorrow and see if I can get it back to Pro without another clean install, or another clean install of Fall Creators, and hopefully can get back to Pro edition
