    Noticed this thread is already marked as solved.
    For the future how do I mark it as solved?
    tried context menu and didn't find anything
    is it at the end of the thread where "mark unsolved" is found?

    Correct. The button will say "Mark as solved" instead of "Mark Unsolved".

    at last!
    I even got updates
    again in D:\SoftwareDistribution\DeliveryOptimization\... got filled up
    so I will delete only the inner files

HI I HAVE DONE everything you've said here and well it worked for a while. then i allowed windows to update a couple of days ago. it downloaded windows update assistant and started downloading update which every time it failed and i dont know why....
