Windows 10 Black Screen During Install

Thanks for that, I unplugged and removed the battery from my laptop an it has started ok.

Problem: Windows is going to a black screen during windows 10 installation. Issue appears to be related to display drivers on devices with multiple graphics card options. Windows appears to attempt to install the graphics driver but fails to re-engage the display adapter after driver is installed.

Solution: Fresh reinstall with network cable unplugged and skipping the step where windows asks for a wifi connection. Once installation completes disable the secondary display adapter before updating it's drivers. After updates are complete switch the secondary display adapter back on.

Guys I have found a solution!!(on dell all in one) Leave your computer on over night then the next day restart it and it will restart it will come up with "restoring windows 10 update" and then it will lead you to a blue screen that says "working on updates" hopefully this helped let me know how it worked!!

If you are at the black screen and cursor, then Microsoft says you may be at your boot signon screen but are unable to view the screen. The sign on is still there. So here is their fix:
1. Push the control key. (This moves the focus to the password box)
2. Enter your logon password and push <Enter>. (When I did this the cursor vanished.)
NOW WAIT. It took my relatively fast Alien computer about 5 minutes to finish the set up and (SMILE) there was Windows 10.
NOTE: If you have been pushing on the keyboard, you may need to reboot to get to a clean log on page to perform the above log on in the dark.

Holey moley, this worked. I've had this issue on various installs for years. I've even waited 24 hours to see if the install would continue. This is the best solution I've had in years. Thank you so much.

I don't know if I just got really lucky or something but I did alt + tab and my black screen was fixed
