Possible to upgrade windows 10 to creator edition but keep files?

So i can ONLY boot up window recovery environment. I want to keep my existing files when installing window creator.

To be clear: i CANNOT boot to windows 10. Something is preventing me.

Also, i see there is a DISM GUI. Has anyone use this in Window preinstall environment to fix windows corruptions?

Is there any way to accomplish this?

If you do a in place upgrade, of course you keep your files. What happens is that you could end up with a bunch of garbage that the upgrade leaves in place and cause long term issues, so the process has been since Windows XP to do a clean install due to it rids the system of any chances of errors and incompatible software.

Unfortunately no, you can only do an in-place upgrade repair if you can boot to Windows.

Similarly you need to be able to boot normally to upgrade Windows.

If you follow our strongly repeated recommendations to use disk imaging routinely, then you can restore your PC from a previously created disk image, which is also a full backup of the partitions or disks imaged. However, it sounds as if you don't have that option.

History: what led to this situation? Upgrade attempt? Lightning strike? One day your PC just wouldn't boot?

Which build of Windows do you have installed? What sort of disk is your system disk?
Do you have a full backup of important items?

As we know nothing about your PC, not even if it's a laptop or desktop (click My Computer below my post to see mine for comparison) - start by downloading Kyhi's boot disk from the top of the Software and Apps section, and create a bootable medium from it.

Boot your PC from that, then run (available when you've booted from that)
    a. Minitool Partition Wizard and post a screenshot of the partitions- make sure you expand the columns to show all text.
To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post to the left of the video icon. Thanks.
    b. HD Tune (Health tab) and post a screenshot

    If that's ok:

You may be able to run System Restore if you boot your PC from a Windows 10 installation medium, click Repair Your Computer, and navigate to Troubleshooting
