    Problem with reset Windows 10

I am trying to help someone to reset his PC to give to his daughter. He tells me that when it is halfway through, it says the reset isn't working and changes have been undone. He says he upgraded from Windows 7 successfully so cannot fathom why a reset will not work. Windows 7 Home was on the computer when he bought it.

I am attaching a screenshot which he sent to me.

Can anyone tell me why a reset wouldn't work, please?

Because built-in Windows reset function is extremely unreliable. I would recommend exporting the non-Microsoft drivers by opening a Command Prompt (Admin) or "Run As Administrator" command prompt and running:

    dism /online /export-driver /destination:F:\Drivers

Change the path in red to match a folder that you create on an external storage device such as a USB flash drive to hold the drivers.

    Clean install Windows 10:

Then any devices that don't get Microsoft drivers can be installed from the drivers previously exported.
