    Oct 17 Creators Fall update

Why is the Fall Creators update coming on Sunday instead of Tuesday? I still haven't received the April Creators update. Will Fall update skip the April update? Just curious.

If you have not had the CU upgrade, then getting the Autumn upgrade seems unlikely as well. Something is probably glitching.

You can manually upgrade by downloading iso, mounting as a drive as running setup.exe. No real point in installing CU now though.

Makes sense to me(in a way).
If you take time zones and the international date line into account, the main part of the downloads at immediate release, will be the America's Sunday morning and afternoon, while the further east you go the later, and others sleeping with their PC's off, and no time to update in the morning(Monday) because they need to go to work. If you go west, it's already Monday the next day(compared to Redmond's date and time).

I must have been looking at September.

I agree with @cereberus. There is likely something wrong with your Windows at this point blocking the upgrade.

I get other updates, just not the April Creators update.

And you likely won't get the Fall Creator's Update automatically through Windows update, either. Just stating the fact. And there will be the numerous posts starting in November from the people who absolutely insist on waiting for the most unreliable method of upgrading (Windows Update) asking "Should I have gotten it by now? When do you think I will get it?"

That is an interesting question. What would windows update do left to its own devices? Skip to the latest or install them one after the other?

I have a 1511 image for my test machine so I restored that and checked for updates. It's Pro, so I tried it with and without 'defer updates'.

Defer updates turned on it found: 'Features update to windows 10, version 1607'
Defer updates turned off it skipped that, instead finding: 'Windows 10 Creators Update Privacy Settings (KB4013214)'
