Can I install latest Insider's Build w/o being in Insider Program?

    Greetings all,

I have a DVD copy of the latest Insider Build (16288) thanks to 'f14tomcat'

I have the latest Creator's Build on both my laptop/desktop (15063.608). I am wondering if i can do an update using the DVD (within Windows, not booting from the DVD) without actually being part of the Insider's program?? If so, will this trigger my Windows install to automatically put me in the Insider's program (hoping not)

Since this build has no expiration i was hoping to run it on my desktop (taking image before doing of course) till the Fall Build is released & install that over 16288. Is this possible?? Can anyone point out any negatives to doing such??

I've read more positive remarks about this build so i'm willing to give it a shot as long as it is doable. I will hold off till i hear from the gurus.

    TIA,

    Ray

Look at the Version number before the Build number. What you have is Insider Preview Version 1709 which means it is due to be released sometime in the next 2 to 6 weeks, don't know if that will make the Insider Preview void or not. Your current Build 15063.608 means you're on the released Version 1703.

It should still work as long as he joins.

Could be but he did say he didn't want that. I've not played with doing it that way as I have 2 Refurbed machines that have not run any version of Win10 except the Technical Preview/Insider Preview.
