I just noticed something odd.
Are you really running a 32 bit version of Windows 7 on a PC with 8GB of RAM? That'd be highly unusual.

Yes, this is true. I have gotten a new HDD because the old one was corrupt. I only have 32-bit Window upgrade versions. I only had these versions from another laptop. I didn't want to buy new versions of Windows 98, Windows XP, and Windows 7 that were all 64-bit. So I was stuck with doing it all in 32-bit. My second partition/system has 64-bit Windows 7. I use that for my gaming. My current partition is 32-bit, just for everyday stuff (it's the family PC). I am trying out Windows 10 on here, not on my gaming partition, so I can see how it is like...
When I bought this computer, it came with Windows 7 64-bit on it. I didn't use any restore CD's on this new partition (I think I lost it, or some other reason...)
Anyways, I did get a Windows 10 32-bit ISO file downloaded. It installs partially, but then says:
"You can't install Windows 10 because your processor doesn't support NX"

Yes you have the first release BIOS, it can be upgraded.
Make sure that you check that post above (and that it is for your exact system), the manual, and that the AI tool is available for you to make it easy to upgrade any system software that may be outdated, if that is within its function.
You need to be your own expert on this, and confident - panic is the worst enemy - if you are well prepared, nothing is likely to fail.
Make necessary backups first.

I have exactly the same problem, Windows 7 Sp1 (32bit version) - as that's what I built the machine with, Core i3 CPU. The Windows 10 update program says my CPU is not compatible, no NX support. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version, and made sure NX support is in the bios. This PC is my Media Center PC.
I upgraded an older PC that had an Intel Pentium e5400 CPU, which was running Windows 8.1 Pro (originally it came with Windows 7 x64 version).
I then did an install of the Windows 8 via the e5400 machines Windows 8 installation key as the install is no longer in use on my e5400 based cpu machine (just the basic install) on the Core i3 CPU machine, and Windows 10 Upgrade then said that this same PC was fine, and installed Windows 10 Pro on the machine. The only issue, is that it's installed both of my Machines with the same Product Key. The Core i3 machine still has its Windows 7 install, which still says the CPU is not compatible, but it's running Windows 10 Pro in another partition fine.
I think Microsoft need to fix up the upgrade tool, as I want to get another Windows 10 license for my Media Center machine, based on the original Windows 7 install. I don't think that both machines are supposed to use the same installation key.

Yes I have given this feedback to Microsoft, so far they haven't replied officially as to the bug (although I think one of the people works for Microsoft as they said I should phone customer support to tell them I re-used my old Windows 8 license key on a second machine).
My Windows 7 Sp1 box has all the patches, including the Patch that is supposed to fix the CPU detection bug (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2952664) but that doesn't fix the issue. The bug still remains.
I might give the Customer Support number a call for the sake of it and see what they have to say.

other partitions
I backed up my BIOS, went to AI tools and found an Application by ASUS to update my BIOS. I upgraded to:

I still get the "You can't install Windows 10 because your processor doesn't support NX" error.
To overview my systems:
Have 1 TB hard drive
3 partitions
partition C: Windows 7 Pro SP1 32-bit <-- current one I'm working on
partition D: Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit <-- gaming
partition E: space for files <-- used to save files on, backup
I went to my gaming partition and found out that Windows 10 can install fine. No errors. I haven't installed it yet. I want to see if my main partition can really work with Windows 10 or not.

I just spoke with Microsoft, and the guy said I need to call the Windows specialist team who can do this (provide me with a product key for Windows 10 based on my Windows 7 product key) for me. I am in Australia, the number he has given me 888 725 1047 or 1877 696 7786, I assume must be a United States based number. The number I first called 13 20 58 (Domestic) is a local Australian number. There must be an easier way? What's the international code for the USA?
Edit: Just found out, 0011 + 1 + number. However there's a 1 hr and 30 minute queue for support. That phone call would cost me a ridiculous amount of money.
Edit: I might be stuffing around for nothing - if this post is correct (
Windows 10 Upgrade License Key - Microsoft Community) - the installation is Pre-Keyed, so I don't need a different installation key. The Hardware ID's of my machines are recorded back in the Microsoft Servers, so it tracks the license anyway. I can just boot off the installation USB key, press Skip on the License Key and it should activate itself once I boot into Windows 10 - Testing now....
Edit: Tested an install on my Media Centre PC without entering the product Key (just choose Skip each time) and the installation successfully activated. It's got a different Product ID to my other PC.Last edited by peterb; 02 Aug 2015 at 20:39.

I used the CPU-Z also! it verifies CPU IS COMPATIBLE, however I continue getting the same response "CPU not supported" error!
I have 4 computers, this being the oldest, but it has all the tools necessary to run 32 bit OR 64 bit Windows 10 with no problems!
I have spoke to MS techs in another forum and they are aware that the app "could have a bug" and are working on a fix!
Especially if people that only had their computer since this LAST CHRISTMAS are experiencing the SAME "CPU NOT RECOGNIZED" ERROR when trying to get their FREE NEW Windows 10 O.S.!
I can't EVER recall getting a FREE ANYTHING from Microsoft.... Let alone getting it FREE NEW O.S. and WITHOUT primitive problems that should have been repaired before releasing to public!
It could also be a way for computer companies to boost sales of NEW computers!
I wonder if the Windows 10 error isn't a PRELUDE to problems in the future and a WARNING!
SO...if you find a cure please share it! I can't wait to see what causes this error!

There is a DEP setting in Windows that you may need to turn on: Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Advanced tab > Performance "Settings..." > Data Execution Prevention tab > choose the second option ("Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select"). Hit OK, and restart the computer.
Weird that the setup program doesn't look at that option to see if it's toggled wrong!
Installation worked for me when I had DEP enabled in both the BIOS and in Windows.
