I downloaded the ISO instead.. Upgrade by windows update is really slow and it made me mad after so many time trying to make it works. After all, I downloaded ISO and followed the instructions in this tutorial

It's worked and I think using ISO is better than trying to fix the windows update's problems.

I'm getting this error message as well. Hopefully, Microsoft will have a fix for this so that those of us who don't take the ISO disc route can have a complete install.

I did a preload of the Win10 files on three PCs (via cmd prompt and do a "wuauclt /updatenow".

It ran through to 100% and afterwards went into "Preparing ...":

    Attachment 26417

But it broke after a long time with something like couldnt install at least 1 update please restart, on all three PCs.

The $Windows.~BT folder is also different size on the PCs though thats because one is Home the other Pro I guess.

I read here How to force the Windows 10 install (if you have the files downloaded) : Windows10 that you can do your own ISO and do a clean install and it's activated too that way, but how do I know if the content of the folder really is complete?
    im getting the same error

After 3 tries mine installed yesterday. It installed pretty quick once it had got past the fails.

All done remotely via rdp as well [emoji4]
