Windows 10: how to upgrade to windows 10 without windows update?

    windows 8.1 key doesn't work with 10 you only need to upgrade for the first time from windows update then 10 will be activated

    It did for me.
    You can use this to find your key if you want to double check it:
    ProduKey - Recover lost product key (CD-Key) of Windows/MS-Office/SQL Server

    you need to upgrade the pc first then u can use the iso on usb. if i can just get the iso on usb then use my win7/8 key then i would've done it already

    Nope, doesn't work! Like others here, just rejects the Win 7 key. Could it be something to do with downloading W10 Pro and trying to upgrade a W7 Home Premium?

Hello all, I'm running Windows 7 Ult x64 and I continue to receive this notification upon startup: 6047 Showing more details: 6049 Any ideas on how to remove? It's quite annoying. Choosing "Hide Update" doesn't work.
