What this error means is, your Windows 10 installation folder is unfinished and/or corrupted. Now, how do you fix that?
    1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder.
    2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
    3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch, hopefully without flaws this time.

    Thanks Bro!
Having exactly the same problem and this work for me.
My only issue now is my ATi Radeon HD 5500 Series Display driver can't be loaded after the upgrade.

I recurve the same errors. Then after midnight this popped up when you click on the windows update icon..

Any ideas what happened? Why would it need to validate, if my "specific PC" is ready? The windows 10 update has been telling me so month that it is ready lol.

Are you getting the driver direct from AMD's website?

Iv'e tried to find a solution to the install problem, but it seems the update files is missing the Boot.wim file. Sadly that's why its failing i guess all we can do is wait for microsoft to address this and give us all the darn files we need. Curse you microsoft! :c

I have had that Windows flag upgrade reservation from 8.1 Pro 64-bit in my taskbar for many weeks.
Now that flag disappeared, but Win 10 has not yet been downloaded and installed

I am getting the same thing as Sanchezsmail1. Mine is saying check PC before upgrading. Before installing Windows 10 Insider Preview, something needs your attention. I think this is just to get it ready. It should not be saying Insider Preview. That is not the final build. Was wuauclt.exe /updatenow a work around to get the preview or just away to get update to work? It is saying over two GB downloads but it is not going into that Download file if it is two gigs.

Desktop has the failed Windows 10 Pro message, laptop had the update ready and is now installing so its rather weird ? Edit: just noticed the download folder is getting repopulated so it may just be a case of delete the folder run the command and then wait for the folder to repopulate again and try later.
